Aliomanu Beach Kauai
Truly a locals beach, even more so than the more well-known Anahola Beach which sits just across the bay, Aliomanu Beach is a quiet place for relaxing on the beach or for just pulling up in your vehicle in the treeline to sit, watch and listen to the peaceful waves.
Aliomanu features a long reef, but it's best to stay on the beach at Aliomanu, as offshore rocks and tricky currents can be problematic.
There are two sections to the beach, North Aliomanu Beach and South Aliomanu Beach. Fishermen can be found at the more popular southern end near the mouth of the Anahola Stream, an open area with plenty of sand. The northern end is more secluded and perhaps even more beautiful.
The southern end can be easily accessed from Aliomanu Road. There is limited parking for the northern end of the beach at Kalalea View Road. Nearby is Papa'a Bay Beach, the setting for the plane crash scene in the movie Six Days Seven Nights.
There are no lifeguards or facilities at Aliomanu Beach.
